North Star Financial Coaching was founded by Aaron Somero in 2023 to focus more time on helping our clients achieve their goals with money. Aaron is a successful financial professional with 18 years experience as a CPA working with businesses to achieve their goals. In the past year, Aaron realized being able to help people and families reduce their money stress is an area he wants to work on more. 

For the first eight years of my married life, we didn't make wise financial choices. We lived paycheck to paycheck, didn't save for "the rainy day", took vacations on a credit card that we couldn't afford, and finished each year wondering "where did all those paychecks go?" Since 2012, I am grateful to have learned from those early years. My wife and I read several books by Dave Ramsey for inspiration, including Financial Peace, then worked to implement the plan in our life for the past 11 years. Living with less debt, saving for the future, having a written plan for where money is spent has allowed us to achieve many goals: moving to a home in the country where we raise our family, being able to travel to the mountains of Colorado/Utah, being able to start a business of our own, enjoying a couples getaway Caribbean cruise from time to time.  I live in Ironwood, Michigan with my wife Amy where we raise our children who are from age 2 up to 16.  I now realize how many Americans deal with money stress and seeing the opportunity to help people reach their goals is my big motivation.
